Ikea Fabric Finds...

I bought 4 pieces of fabric at Ikea yesterday, and so far I've already used half of them.

I bought this one to use as a quilt backing, for something I have yet to design:

It's various numbers spelled out in cursive, which I thought was pretty cute. The fabric itself is really soft, so I think it would make a nice center piece on the back of a quilt or throw blanket.

The other favorite fabric I got was this one:

It's origami animals, which I thought looked really cool (with fingers crossed it would also be cool on a "man" level). Turns out it was... Adam really likes it and it looks great as a bed cover in the room he's converting to his music studio. We have a twin bed in there that acts as a couch during sessions, but also doubles as a guest room when we have visitors. And although I haven't actually done anything more with this fabric other than cover the bed with it, I will be turning it into a real bed spread this weekend. This purchase also prompted two additional purchases... a dark grey patterned rug and light grey bedsheets. I love it when my design ideas are accepted by Adam:)

The other two fabrics I have no idea what to do with, but I figure it never hurts to add to the stash!!!

More Fabric!!

In my recent attempts to get back into sewing full time, I decided I needed to restock my fabric stash. And thanks to a sale over at Sew Mama Sew, I got a few fabulous cuts to add to the collection. Here are some of the designs I purchased... I still have no idea what I'll do with any of them, but I'm happy to have them in my possession!!

Charmed

These are my new charm packs (technically one charm pack and one jelly roll). While they don't look like much now, I'm pretty excited about them! Just knowing that each one is going to become a quilt makes me want to pull them apart and start playing with all the pieces. Soon though... soon.

The Stitches in the Technicolor Dreamcoat

Guttermann thread is so pretty in and of itself that I decided it needed its own home to proudly display its bright beauty (can I get another adjective please??). The only problem with putting it on display though is that I now feel like I don't have enough. And thus the cycle of shopping continues...

I heart Heather Ross

This is the new fabric I just bought (technically pre-ordered months ago). Its from the "Far Far Away" series by Heather Ross (her last series ever) and was only printed in Japan on double gauze cotton. Needless to say it's awesome and expensive so I'm struggling trying to figure out what to do with it.
Of course I'll probably just wait until my skills improve before I attempt to use it...
